Sunday Bible Study: Acts 2:42-47
Updated: May 4, 2020

On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, we explore the life changing themes of community fellowship, gratitude, and the joys of living a generous life of abundance.
Our Scripture passage is found in the Book of Acts, which is a continuation of the story of Jesus and his followers, as told by the author of the Gospel according to Luke. Our passage may be found by following the provided link: (Acts 2:42-47).
For continuing study on your own, reflect on these questions (found in the study guide below):
As you reflect on the community portrayed in the Scripture reading, consider the following: what was life like for this community, beyond their small group? What might have been their emotions in these early Christian days?
How is giving generously an expression of Christian unity and love?
We know these early Christians gathered at the Temple: why was the temple a natural meeting place for them; and why was it also a potentially dangerous place to gather?
We are told "their numbers increased daily" - why do you believe their numbers were increasing, and what part might the compassion and care displayed helped increase their numbers?
How were these early Christians "people of a new way?" And how might we also be a "people of a new way," especially in these turbulent days of 2020.
