At St. Francis, we want to provide safe, comfortable housing for our rector and the rector’s family, which requires ongoing work. On August 9, several parishioners gathered to do some updates and repairs on the church rectory. This round of work included replacing the guard rails on the back deck to make the deck compliant with building codes, as well as increase the look and comfort of the deck. Structural damage on the front wall was repaired. Knob and tube wiring was removed. In the kitchen, a cabinet was moved and insulation was added behind the dishwasher in an effort to improve dishwasher function during cold weather.
The team included Andrew Jensen, David Currie, Matt Surabian, Bryan Diehl, Dick Delorme, Fred Lonardo, Joel Wesson, Tyler Will, Jeff Plante, Craig Stanovich, Dave Ammerman, and Jeremy Sanders. Future needs include siding repairs, paint, and new gutters. A renovation of the upstairs bathroom is sorely needed. New garage doors are also in our plans. So, if you missed your chance to pitch in on the August work day, there will be other
opportunities.
