As we gather for the First Sunday of Advent, we will hear the prophetic words of the prophet Jeremiah. The prophet speaks to a people who are in a strange and foreign land, wondering where the stability and comfort of their God might be. As we enter into the season of Advent (the season of expectant waiting for the Christ) we will reflect on how these hope-filled words give us hope in our hurting and divided world.
