As we gather on this Third Sunday of Easter, we hear the concluding verses of the Gospel according to John, which tells of Christ's third post-resurrection appearance to the disciples. We find the disciples fishing throughout the night...they have returned to what they were doing before Jesus came into their lives...and having a rather bad time of things. Jesus appears to them in the midst of their discouragement and failure of what they had known best, and blesses and encourages them to move forward with spreading Christ's mission throughout the world. We will reflect on how God comes into the midst of our lives and renews and redeems our daily challenges and misunderstandings.
